A Tale Dark And Grim The book I am doing for the book talk and book review is called "A Tale Dark And Grim."This is the true story of Hansel and Gretel and their adventure, other than the one with the witch that wanted to eat them.
This is a long but funny story. I loved how the author Adam Gitwitz chose the story of brothers grim and made it in a different way in his own book.
He wrote this boook like he was write be side you and he was joking when you were reading the book because he writes what he pretends to say in a little bolder writing. Its fun when he gives out little warnings that this story has blood and violent but its actually a very fun and funny book to read. This story start with Hansel and Gretel's grand father and his wishes for his son and he tells them to one of the oldest and wisest servant, the kings call him faithful Johannes because he was faithful to the king and his father and his father and on. Than when the king died and his son became the king he saw a portrait of a beautiful girl and wants to marry her (but how?read the book!). Than Hansel and Gretel get born and they have to run away (why? you have to read the book to find out). They face many scary challenges and this will cause someone in the book to loose a finger! My favorite part of the book is probably the end because i love ending happy or sad!
